# Son of a Tailor > Son of a Tailor makes considered everyday essentials, made to order in Portugal. Founded in Copenhagen in 2014, we cut and sew each garment only once it is ordered — to a custom fit generated by our Perfect Fit Algorithm from four simple inputs, or to a pre-engineered size. Nothing is made in advance, so there is no inventory and waste is eliminated by design. We choose our materials with intention — Supima cotton, extra-fine Merino wool, and cashmere spun outside Florence — and we stand behind the fit with our Free Remake Guarantee. Every garment is made to order, made to fit, and made to last. ## About - Founded in Copenhagen in 2014; every garment is made to order and produced in Portugal. - Made-to-order model: nothing is made until it is ordered, so there is no inventory and waste is eliminated by design. - Custom fit from our Perfect Fit Algorithm, which has fitted 100,000+ customers across 65+ countries from four simple inputs. - SON Supply, our own production house in Santo Tirso, Portugal, opened in 2023 for full control over quality and process. - A third-party Life Cycle Assessment (ISO 14040/14044) measured a 25% lower Global Warming Potential for our Cotton T-Shirt versus mass production. - Free Remake Guarantee: if the fit is not right, we remake the garment free of charge, up to two months after purchase. - Certified B Corp. The links below cover what we make, how made-to-order and custom fit work, the materials we choose, and how to reach us. We link category pages rather than individual products, because the range changes; the categories always lead to what is currently available. ## Products - [All products](https://www.sonofatailor.com/products): the full made-to-order range of essentials. - [T-Shirts](https://www.sonofatailor.com/products/t-shirts): our T-Shirts, led by the Cotton T-Shirt — a favorite since day one. - [Polo shirts](https://www.sonofatailor.com/products/polo-shirts): piqué and knitted polos, made to order. - [Shirts](https://www.sonofatailor.com/products/shirts): button-up shirts, including Oxford cloth. - [Knitwear](https://www.sonofatailor.com/products/knitwear): Merino, cashmere and lyocell knits, 3D-knitted in one piece. - [Bestsellers](https://www.sonofatailor.com/bestsellers): the essentials our customers return to most. - [New arrivals](https://www.sonofatailor.com/new-arrivals): the latest additions to the range. ## How it works: made to order & custom fit - [Our mission](https://www.sonofatailor.com/our-mission): how custom fit, our sizing and the Free Remake Guarantee work. - [Our production](https://www.sonofatailor.com/our-production): how garments are made to order in Portugal, including our own production house, SON Supply. ## Materials & guides - [Notes](https://www.sonofatailor.com/notes): our editorial — material guides, and stories from the people and places behind the brand. - [Supima cotton 101](https://www.sonofatailor.com/notes/supima-101): what makes Supima cotton, and its extra-long staples, worth choosing. - [Cashmere 101](https://www.sonofatailor.com/notes/cashmere-101): how to judge cashmere, and the grade we use. - [Lyocell 101](https://www.sonofatailor.com/notes/lyocell-101): what lyocell is and how it wears. - [Piqué polo shirt 101](https://www.sonofatailor.com/notes/pique-polo-shirt-101): the piqué knit, and what makes a polo worth keeping. - [Oxford shirt 101](https://www.sonofatailor.com/notes/oxford-shirt-101): Oxford cloth, and how to wear an Oxford shirt. - [A tale of three knits](https://www.sonofatailor.com/notes/a-tale-of-three-knits): Merino, cashmere and lyocell, compared. ## Our impact - [T-shirt footprint](https://www.sonofatailor.com/t-shirt-footprint): the third-party Life Cycle Assessment behind our Cotton T-Shirt. - [B Corp](https://www.sonofatailor.com/b-corp): our B Corp certification and what it means. ## Help - [FAQ](https://www.sonofatailor.com/faq): answers on fit, sizing, materials and orders. - [Support](https://www.sonofatailor.com/support): help, returns and the Free Remake Guarantee. - [Contact](https://www.sonofatailor.com/contact): how to reach us. ## Optional - [Making of cashmere](https://www.sonofatailor.com/notes/making-of-cashmere): inside our cashmere, spun by Linsieme outside Florence. - [B Corp, forever](https://www.sonofatailor.com/notes/b-corp-forever): a longer read on the work behind our certification.
