Behind our Fall/Winter photoshoot

On Danish design and modern craft

FW25 captures a season of quiet precision: luxurious materials meticulously cut and knitted, bringing understated elegance to life’s occasions. At Son of a Tailor, we draw deeply from Denmark’s design heritage. With its precise creativity and dedication to elevating the everyday, Danish design has earned a global reputation for seamlessly merging form and function, letting materiality take center stage. Today, Copenhagen is home to a thriving design scene with emerging and established talent from all over the world redefining what Danish design can be.

For our fall/winter studio shoot, we lean into this dynamic by collaborating with selected local designers and brands. The result is a setting that reflects the collection itself: precise yet warm, structured yet soft. Matteo Fogale, Edoardo Lietti, Filippo Andrighetto, OEO Studio, and FRAMA, each of them, in their own way, exemplifies how craft can transcend time, marrying past, present, and future.

Matteo Fogale

Whether he’s designing bespoke or in collaboration with Danish household names like Carl Hansen & Søn or &Tradition, Matteo Fogale’s approach is driven by a commitment to honest and premium materials, functionality, and longevity. His work further spans consulting as Head of Design and Product Development for ReFramed, lecturing at UAL Central Saint Martins, among others, and co-founding the digital platform Objective Studies. With the latter, he’s aiming to nurture new design talent in an effort to break down barriers in the industry. His collaboration with designer Laetitia de Allegri was awarded a Wallpaper* Design Award in 2015. Born in Uruguay, Matteo lives and works between London and Copenhagen.

Edoardo Lietti

Edoardo Lietti’s creations sit between Italian classics and contemporary design, often featuring modular elements and a focus on honest materials. Born in the Renaissance town of Florence, the city and its historical narratives form a core theme in Edoardo’s exploration of balance, proportions, and craftsmanship. All pieces are made in his studio and hand-finished. With a keen interest in technology, he has optimized the manufacturing processes to avoid excess waste. His work has been featured in Ark Journal, RUM, and Vogue Living. Edoardo works between Italy and Denmark.

Filippo Andrighetto

Filippo Andrighetto’s design philosophy revolves around the concept of soft futurism, in which the timeless allure of tradition and more future-oriented aesthetics converge. By contrasting raw metals or stones with softer materials like wood or natural fabrics, Filippo creates a dynamic interplay that celebrates both industrial elements and organic warmth. Each piece is crafted with a focus on durability and tactility, showcasing the inherent beauty and integrity of its materials. An architect by trade, it was Copenhagen’s vibrant design scene that sparked Filippo’s interest in designing furniture alongside his career as an architect when relocating to the Danish capital. Filippo now works between Denmark and Italy.

A trained fashion designer and former Editor at Wallpaper* Magazine, Head of Design Thomas approaches each project holistically and with relentless dedication to the overarching narrative. OEO Studio’s practice spans interiors for Michelin-starred restaurants like Noma, collaborations with craftspeople, some of which are to be found in global cultural institutions including the Louvre, product design, as well as creative direction and design strategy. FRAMA

Founded by Niels Strøyer Christophersen, design brand FRAMA’s philosophy is built around engaging the senses in everyday moments, connecting design and experience. With an emphasis on natural materials, FRAMA’s work celebrates craftsmanship, resulting in a timeless and honest aesthetic. Their work spanning product design and spatial work within lifestyle, furniture, objects, selfcare, and fragrances is directly informed by the convergence and interplay of four primary experiential influences: travel, nature, spaces, and stories. When these influences play in unison, they harmonize into an ambiance – a unique character and distinctive atmosphere tied to a specific place and time. FRAMA is headquartered in Copenhagen.
